Encouraging Dynamic Growth for Educators

Encouraging Dynamic Growth for Educators through the Leading EDGEucator Academy! The Leading EDGEucator Academy encourages dynamic growth in educators by connecting trailblazing peers and supportive instructors to redefine the teaching and learning experience for themselves and learners. Leading EDGEucators will become competent in 21st Century Learning Design, Microsoft and/or Apple tools via a certification, Personalized Competency-Based Learning (PCBL), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Canvas.

Program Benefits

Participants will:

  • Become part of a cutting edge cadre of educators working to build a sphere of influence and rumble within their schools about the integration of technology in teaching.

  • Receive an $800 stipend.

  • Opportunity for 14 USBE Credits

  • Learn ways to become 21st century teachers and create digital teaching and learning environments for students.

  • Each participant will become MIE certified (Microsoft Innovative Educator) and/or an Apple Teacher.

  • Each participant will have the opportunity to apply to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE).

    • Over the course of this academy, each participant will build a portfolio to be used for the application.

Course Goals:

For each session you can expect to participate in the 21CLD course pathway, other courses/videos/articles that support this skill, and hands on activities and assignments that will engage you with the course goals which include:

  • A focus on redesigning learning to develop 21st century skills and deepen understanding of 21CLD curricular goals.

  • Facilitating educators to use new learning designs within their own teaching and to analyze the impact on student learning.

  • Sharing new learning activities with other educators locally and globally.

  • An opportunity for educators to discuss and support each other as they learn more about the 21CLD skills and personalized and competency-based learning (PCBL).

  • Creating a portfolio of lessons/activities to support 21CLD skills and to evaluate these lessons using the 21CLD rubrics.

  • Applying to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert.
