Read Aloud Browsers
There are many browser plug-ins for people who find it difficult to read online. By reading text aloud and highlighting the words as they are spoken, read aloud browsers can help people with learning disabilities,
English as a second language, and mild visual
impairments.

Web Accessibility Problems
Davis School District will respond in a timely manner as required by the ADA to address all complaints brought under this section.

You may also direct accessibility problems to the Davis School District webmaster, Email Accessibility. In your message include the website address or URL and the specific problem you have encountered.

Use your computer to read web pages out loud

You can use free browser plug-ins to listen to web pages on Davis School District. Here are a few suggestions.

Browse Aloud helps people who may find it difficult to read text online, those who may have literacy problems, or those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. It is also a beneficial tool for those for whom English is a second language.

Browse Aloud reads the words on any web page through your computer speakers and highlights words as they are spoken. Browse Aloud can be used in two ways.
You can select a "continuous" option, which allows the entire contents of a web page to be read without using the mouse.

  1. You can select individual words or sentences on a page, and Browse Aloud will read them out loud.

  2. You can turn Browse Aloud on and off with a click of the Ctrl key on your keyboard.

  3. You can also customize the voice, pitch, and speed of the reader to suit your needs.

You must download and install the Browse Aloud plug-in before using it.
