Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment (CE) provides prepared high school students with a challenging and rigorous college-level experience in their last two years of high school. The program allows students to become better prepared for the world of work or to complete selected college courses corresponding to the first year of coursework at a Utah public college or university. Students enroll in college classes at their high school taught by high school teachers who meet adjunct qualifications at the sponsoring university. Students earn both credit at high school and also credit on a college transcript. All concurrent courses lead to a university degree, either fulfilling general education requirements or designated elective requirements in specific areas of study.
Currently, Davis School District partners with four higher education institutions to provide CE opportunities for our students:
Weber State University
Salt Lake Community College
Utah State University
Utah Valley University

Certificate of Completion
The Weber State University Certificate of Completion in General Education is official documentation from the university that a student has completed the general education requirements of an Associate or Bachelor degree. Once awarded, it will appear on students’ official transcripts and is considered part of their permanent record. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be awarded the General Education Certificate of Completion.
High School students who take Advanced Placement (AP), Concurrent Enrollment (CE) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses can receive college credit to apply toward this Certificate of Completion. The certificate requires the completion of 37 credits from various general education courses, many of which are taught in the local high schools.
To begin the process of obtaining a Certificate of Completion, students and parents should meet an Concurrent Enrollment Advisor. Each high school in our district, has an advisor at the school. During this appointment you will discuss if pursuing a degree through Concurrent Enrollment is a good fit and what courses the student should be taking in high school.
Students will work with their high school counselor to schedule the CE courses.
