Davis County residents gathered in the auditorium at Farmington High School and heard stories from Syrian, Afghan and Ukrainian refugees. These courageous souls, now proud members of our Utah community, poured their hearts out, recounting tales of struggle and sacrifice.
Kudos to the Davis School District’s Refugee Supports team for orchestrating an unforgettable event: the inaugural Community Refugee Awareness Night. The community heard experiences and learned more about their countries, culture and journey to the U.S.
But the journey doesn't end there. Reach out, extend a hand of friendship to refugee families in your community. Teach your children respect and inspire them to embrace diversity by being warm and welcoming to refugee students at school. And remember, every act of kindness counts! Consider donating your time or resources or volunteering with local refugee organizations.
