Davis School District recently hosted a heartwarming event called "The Elves and the Shoemaker.” The annual event, which has become a cherished tradition, aims to bring joy and support to young students during the holiday season.
The event that has now grown to nine schools starts with a reading of the classic tale, "The Elves and the Shoemaker." The story, which tells of a shoemaker who receives help from three generous elves, sets the stage for a magical experience for the kindergarten students. As the story concludes, the sound of sleigh bells fill the air, guiding the excited children to their gifts.
Each student is greeted with a wrapped gift bearing their name. Inside, they find a brand-new pair of shoes. This year, over 450 kindergarten students received these special gifts, ensuring they have the necessary footwear to stay warm and comfortable.
The event is possible thanks to the generous donations made by primary sponsor America First Credit Union, and additional sponsors Ascent Credit Union and Mountain America Credit Union. This initiative highlights the power of community partnerships in making a positive impact on students' lives.
