Today, we celebrate the amazing individuals who make our community shine brighter, including the incredible students at Davis School District with Down syndrome.
In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, we are excited to spotlight a few of our students who ROCK their socks every day with their amazing personalities, determination and spirit.
• Daisy is a ray of sunshine with a heart of gold. She brings joy to everyone she meets with her kind and giving nature, and her bright smile makes the world a better place. She attends Shoreline Junior High School.
• Ella Rose is a 6th grader at Boulton Elementary and the youngest of seven siblings. She enjoys performing with her cheer team, dancing and participating in school plays like "Newsies." Ella Rose also loves swimming, spending time with friends and riding the rides at Lagoon.
• Harrison is a joyful 5-year-old who loves attending Boulton Elementary, playing outside with his brother and watching his favorite movies. His smile and positive attitude brighten everyone’s day, and he proves that with love and determination, anything is possible!
• Hudson, the younger sibling of a student in Davis School district, loves his family, playing soccer and reading books. He's a quick learner and loves preschool. Hudson's bright spirit and infectious smile always bring joy to those around him!
• Jewelien'J (pronounced Julian-Jay) is a 6th grader at Boulton Elementary. Known for his fun-loving personality, he brings joy to everyone around him, especially his classmates in Ms. Gunnells's class. Jewelien'J's determination and heart show that anything is possible.
• Karlee is a senior at Syracuse High School. She loves going to school, playing Unified soccer and basketball and dancing. She's also active with Special Olympics. In her free time, she enjoys coloring, drawing and spending time with her family outdoors, including camping and ATV rides.
• Leila is full of energy and always brings laughter wherever she goes. She loves dancing, singing and making everyone around her smile with her kind heart and quick wit.
• Teia is a 1st grader at Lakeside Elementary who loves dancing, singing karaoke and caring for her chickens. She’s always full of energy and enjoys playing soccer with friends and watching Bluey.
• Timmy is a first grader at Oak Hills Elementary. He loves jumping on the trampoline, swimming and listening to music. Timmy's joyful spirit and positive energy brighten every room he enters. He's always ready to share a smile and make new friends.
