Muir Elementary students went the extra mile to support their school, literally. The school’s annual Laps for Lions fundraiser brought together about 600 kindergarten through sixth-grade students for a morning of running, fun and fundraising.
Students ran three laps around the school as they put their endurance to the test and helped raise more than $25,000 through donations from parents, grandparents and neighbors. When rain moved in, younger students took their laps indoors, where school hallways were transformed into an obstacle course that kept them moving.
The money raised will help pay for student field trips and other PTO activities throughout the school year. For Muir students, the fundraiser was a chance to get moving, have fun and show that a little sweat can go a long way.
