Foxboro Elementary School is excited to announce the appointment of Shelly Truelson as the new principal. This leadership change marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the school as it continues to build on its strengths and achieve new milestones.

Truelson, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has long been passionate about education. Her dream of becoming a teacher led her to Utah State University, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education and proudly became an Aggie. Truelson’s career in the Davis School District began 19 years ago as a 1st-grade teacher. Over the years, she transitioned into roles as a Literacy Instructional Coach and then as an Elementary Assistant Principal. Now, she steps into the role of Principal at Foxboro Elementary, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success.

Truelson, who currently resides in Bountiful with her husband Amon, their son Dailey, and two beloved dogs, Calliope and Maximus, is eager to continue her work within the vibrant Foxboro community. A lover of reading, movies, and sunshine, Shelly's personal interests reflect her warm and engaging personality, which she brings into her professional life.

Truelson’s journey at Foxboro Elementary began two years ago when she was appointed Assistant Principal. Since then, she has been an integral part of the school's growth and success. Under her leadership, Foxboro Elementary has seen significant improvements in student performance. The school's reading proficiency increased by 8%, with a 9% rise in student growth. In math, proficiency increased by 5%, accompanied by a remarkable 16% growth in student achievement.

One of the most inspiring accomplishments from the past year is the 5,762 Kindness Coins earned by Foxboro students. These coins represent acts of kindness, respect, and adherence to school expectations, averaging an impressive 32 acts of kindness each day. This achievement speaks volumes about the positive and supportive environment that Shelly has helped cultivate at Foxboro.

"Together, we will continue the great work that has been happening here at Foxboro and reach new heights as a team," Truelson said.
