Davis Academic League
The mission of Davis Academic League is to foster student collaboration in learning, develop and practice academic skills, promote good sportsmanship, build confidence, and create friendships through friendly competition.
Davis Academic League is an inter-school academic competition between junior high schools in Davis School District. Teams of students compete with each other to demonstrate their knowledge of STEM and humanities subjects. Games consist of four quarters, two of which (first and fourth) are based on questions answered by individual students. In the second quarter, a group of students from each team race against each other to solve a problem or answer a question. The third quarter assesses the knowledge, logic, and communication skills of students as they make presentations and answer questions on a topic assigned approximately a week earlier.
The Davis Academic League season runs from January through mid-March.
