The swim teams of Layton High School and Farmington High School have ample reason to celebrate as their coaches made waves at the recent U.S. Masters Swimming National Championships. Head Coach Rachelle Woodbury of Layton High School and Head Coach Stacy Edholm of Farmington High School, along with Assistant Coach Cristian Corbett from Layton High, showcased their exceptional talent and dedication in a series of impressive performances.

Rachelle Woodbury demonstrated her prowess by competing in six challenging events, ranging from the 100 yard Freestyle to the 100 yard Butterfly. Not only did she aim to maintain her best times, but she exceeded expectations by achieving outstanding results in each event.

Assistant Coach Cristian Corbett, at just 29 years old, proved his mettle by swimming an ambitious schedule that included events from the 50 yard Freestyle to the 200 yard Breaststroke. His dedication paid off with three lifetime bests during the competition, showcasing his remarkable improvement and commitment to excellence.

Stacy Edholm, Head Swim Coach at Farmington High School, exhibited her versatility and skill by participating in six events herself, spanning the 50 yard Backstroke to the 200 yard Backstroke. Her ability to compete across different strokes and distances highlighted her strength and dedication to the sport.

The highlight of the championships was the thrilling 200 yard Medley Relay, where Rachelle Woodbury and Stacy Edholm joined forces. Stacy showcased her butterfly expertise while Rachelle excelled in the breaststroke leg, contributing to an unforgettable team effort that resonated with the spirit of camaraderie and competition.
