Fremont Elementary School became an extra special place recently as it hosted a night of celebration for students, parents, alumni and community members.
Lining the halls were smiling faces of students, faculty and staff who had been photographed as far back as 1966. While some of the younger crowd climbed in and bounced through one bounce house and climbed up and slid down a second, those who are older enjoyed walking the hallways, reminiscing not only about their school, but also how they looked years ago.
After 58 years, Fremont closes its doors, but for many, it will always be where generations were educated and where lifelong friendships were established.
Falcons Forever.
Congratulations, class of 2024!

Foxboro Elementary fifth grade students learned about the history of the U.S. Constitution in class and used their knowledge to prepare music and a reader's theater about the writing of the Constitution.
The reader's theater was based on the book titled "Unite or Die" written by Jacqueline Jules with songs like The Star-Spangled Banner, Yankee Doodle and We the People (with the text of the Preamble).
Students shared their learning with their parents at an evening performance followed by an assembly the next day. One of the more memorable songs was titled "Mighty United" with lyrics and music written by Teresa Jennings.

Davis High's juniors were in for a treat as they dove headfirst into a thought-provoking assembly on #civilrights. Three dynamic speakers took the stage, urging these young minds not just to learn from history but to actively shape the future narrative.
With U.S. History classes covering civil rights, Angie Leedy knew her students needed a fresh perspective. Greensboro, NC history teacher, Bridgett Wiley, who shared her first-hand experiences growing up in the South. Her insights offered invaluable insight into the ongoing struggle for progress.
But it wasn't just words—Harold DeHorney added a musical dimension, transporting the audience to the heart of the era. Finally, Brigham Young University professor Chris Crowe shared how he researched his book "Getting Away With Murder - The Truth About The Emmett Till Case."
In the end, students were left with the message: knowing history isn't enough; it's about using that knowledge to forge a brighter tomorrow.
